About Me.

David Jermyn
Designer | Creative Producer | Director | Writer

David is an experience designer, event creator, community builder, and film/TV-maker, based in Toronto.

He is the co-founder of Planet Fabulon, an arts collective obsessed with exploring how live experiences (filled with costumes, immersive storytelling, interactive art, dancing, and live performance) can be used as a medium for promoting greater connection, playfulness, and social change.

With the COVID pandemic in 2020, Fabulon pivoted to creating innovative online events. David has since produced virtual  events for corporate clients in the entertainment and tech sectors.

In 2021, David was accepted into the Odyssey Works Experience Design Incubator to develop an original concept for a site-specific narrative VR experience that he intends to produce in Toronto in 2022.

As a filmmaker, David’s work spans everything from progressive-minded comedies, to serious investigations of the illegal drug trade, to competition shows about cakes.

David has since spent time in Canada, the US, Australia, and the UK, producing, directing, and writing factual and documentary content for networks as diverse as National Geographic, BBC, VICE, TLC, CBC, CTV, and HGTV.

In 2017, David wrote, directed, and produced the sci-fi short Be My Guest. The film enjoyed a successful festival run that included official selections at two of the world’s most prestigious genre festivals, Sitges (Spain) and Fantasia Film Festival (Montreal). The film has since been picked up for distribution by Gonella Productions.
