The Map of Kindness
Crowdsourced Social Experiment
A current pandemic/lockdown project in the form of an ongoing experiment/art piece designed to recognize, encourage, and track the virality of acts of kindness.
A set of real-world ‘thank you’ cards are given to strangers with instructions for logging/mapping their act of kindness, using a QR code to access a crowd-sourced custom map site. They are then encouraged to pass the card along to someone they meet who does a kindness for them, thereby continuing the chain.
Over time, the hope is that a network of acts will fill out the map, with each card tracing its own unique path/story within it.
The map/site will also be accessible as view-only by the general public/anyone who wants to follow the progress.
In development. Full details coming soon.
